• At the beginning of 2018 the Parliament voted for the draft law which first sets out the framework for the production, processing and disposal of finished medicinal products containing cannabis. This has paved the way for attracting investment to a new activity in Greece.

  Its investment plan for Greece envisages the development of 92,000 sq. Meters. greenhouses with a production capacity exceeding 100 tonnes over a four-year period.

  Since hemp is a greenhouse crop and therefore has a high heating cost, Greece enjoys a comparative advantage in terms of ideal conditions of cultivation, which is no different from the sunshine and the high temperatures prevailing in the country.

  Given gradual legitimacy, it is estimated that by 2020 the global market for medical cannabis will be valued at $ 250 billion.

  Already many investment schemes with plans to grow medical cannabis, more than one billion euros
